what radar detector is better the valentine 1 or the escort 9500ix?

Im looking at getting one, my best friend loves the v1 but the escort is supposedly the best, i would like to hear from owners that have either of them.

I just picked up the escort 9500ix 3days ago, upgraded from a cobra i had for 6 years, i gotta say this thing is nuts!

Does the Escort Passport 9500ix have rear detection?

I would like to know whether or not the Escort Passport 9500ix has rear detection capabilities like the Valentine 1?

The 9500ix does have good rear detection, but no where near as strong as the v1's. The v1 has 2 antennas one facing forward the other facing the rear, as far as i know its the only detector with a separate rear facing antenna.

I hear the v1 is more sensitive so it can pick up cops far up the road but the escort has the gps which tells you speed traps, school zones, red light cameras, etc. So what do you guys and girls think?

I wouldn't listen to a cop for radar detector advice. Detectors are NOT useless and they CAN save you and pay for themselves, especially with the units that you've mentioned. I personally use the V1, and I'll tell you, it's an INCREDIBLE tool for situational
