Why does my Garmin 276c chartplotter keep turning on and off?
I bought a used garmin 276c off ebay. The seller told me the battery was defective but that it worked fine plugged in.
When I plug it in, it turns on and then after a few seconds the screen goes blank/flickers and it restarts.
I called Garmin on their tech support line. I got a real person after only one or two phone prompts. I told them the problem and he walked me through downloading new firmware for the unit (software in the gps itself).

can my garmin chartplotter be connected straight on to the garmin gfs 10 fuel gauge?
or will i have to install an nmea 2000 network first for it to work
Have a look in the handbook for your plotter,where they describe the loom(half of which are never used!)and see if there is a nmea 2000 input wire - if there is,connect to the output from the gauge and dont forget to open the port in the menu to make
I have on my boat a Garmin GPSMAP 430S chartplotter with sonar?
the 430s has a Dual Beam Transducer, when in the sonar mode and the fish id is enacted it shows some red fish and some will be blue, what does that mean?
