Garmin eTrex Vista for trail running?
I am thinking about getting a Garmin eTrex vista to help keep me on track for off road fell or trail running. Has anyone tried this? If so, would you recommend it, if not, why not?

If you want a device that is versatile (you'll be using it for more than just training), the vista is a great device. It's smaller than some, yet gives you maps and the ability to do turn-by-turn directions.
I would not recommend the e trex. The Garmin street pilot is much better. Look at the new Garmin Street Pilots, they are touch screen and east to navigate.
Will the Garmin eTrex Vista C charge off of USB?
I recently got this GPS, used, from a friend who doesn't want it anymore.
It has the car charger, but no house charger. It does, however, have a mini-USB port on it. Will this device charge off of USB like many cell phones do?
The mini-USB port is for map downloading. According to the specs for the eTrex, the USB cables don't provide wiring for external power. The GPS runs on 12V, USB is only 5V. The GPS runs off of standard AA batteries, so I believe that there is no way

I'm particuarly concerened about the map resolution, in the UK it comes loaded with the Atlantic base map, is this good enough for navigating around European roads, not just motorways
A friend of a friend had one and said it was a bit rubbish. They got a Tom Tom instead though. Sorry, I don't know any other alternatives.

Nationally, she said, retailers are expecting about a 3 percent increase over last year. Ahlmer believes that Arizona retailers will do slightly better than that, citing discount stores, jewelry stores and department stores as likely to do especially well.
The average person spent $720 on holiday shopping -- presents, food and decorations -- in 2010, she said. That, too, is expected to be a little higher this year, she says.
She also estimated that about 30 percent more seasonal employees could be hired this year.
Maryann Miller, president and CEO of the Tempe Chamber of Commerce, said she senses that people are optimistic that there will be a better holiday-shopping season this year.
